On your phone

Timeline records the places you visit using Apple’s Core Location and Core Motion and stores that history on your iPhone. Without agent access, nothing is sent to us. Addresses and place names are looked up through Apple Maps, under Apple’s privacy policy.

Agent access

Agent access is optional and off by default. When you sign in with Google and turn it on, the app uploads:

• your visits: arrival and departure times, location, reported accuracy, time zone, and the place name or address the app shows;
• your saved places, such as Home and Work, with their addresses;
• your most recent position, so an assistant can tell you where you last were;
• your account’s name and email address from Google, and a device name and app version.

Raw location samples, motion activity and the app’s diagnostics are never uploaded. When you connect, you choose whether to upload your existing history or only what is recorded from then on.

How it is used

Your history is used only to answer requests from assistants you connect, such as Claude or ChatGPT. When an assistant asks, the relevant visits are sent to that assistant’s provider, under their privacy policy. We don’t sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else.

Where it is stored

The service runs on Vercel, and the database is hosted by Neon. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Location data is never written to our logs.

This website

The website counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics. It doesn’t use cookies or collect anything that identifies you: visits are counted from a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and we only see totals, such as which pages were read, the referring site, country, browser and device type.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and when you joined, and use it only to tell you when Timeline is on the App Store. It isn’t linked to an account or shared with anyone. To be removed, ask through the contact below.

Keeping and deleting

Uploaded history is kept until you delete it. You can stop syncing at any time, delete your uploaded history, or delete your account from the app, which removes everything we store about you immediately. Disconnecting an assistant revokes its access.
